Tearful Adieu to Ginni Sethi; Prominent Leaders Pay Last Respects; Antim Ardas on May 7

Inderpreet Singh ‘Ginni’ Sethi, son of senior Congress leader Manjit Singh Sethi, was cremated in Jalandhar on Monday amid an emotional and overwhelming turnout of family members, relatives, and prominent personalities from across political, social and business circles.

The 37-year-old entrepreneur’s mortal remains were consigned to flames at the Harnamdasspura Cremation Grounds, where a large number of people gathered to pay their last respects and express solidarity with the bereaved family. The atmosphere was marked by deep grief as mourners bid a tearful farewell.

Ginni Sethi’s body was brought to Jalandhar late Sunday night after arriving at Delhi airport from Canada, where he had passed away on April 20 following a sudden cardiac arrest at his mobile showroom in Surrey.

Earlier, his body was received at his residence amid emotional scenes, with relatives and acquaintances offering condolences. Prominent personalities from various walks of life also visited the residences of Manjit Singh Sethi and Congress leader Mohinder Singh Gullu to express their sympathies.

Ginni Sethi is survived by his wife Harnoor Kaur, daughters Ibadat Kaur and Nehmat Kaur, parents, siblings and extended family. He was the elder son of Manjit Singh Sethi and son-in-law of Congress Councillor Mohinder Singh Gullu.

Ginni Sethi’s sudden demise had sent shockwaves across the Punjabi community both in India and abroad. Known for his entrepreneurial spirit and warm personality, he had established himself in Canada while maintaining strong ties with his roots in Punjab.

The Antim Ardas for the departed soul will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Model Town, Jalandhar, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
