The Panjab University Men’s Gatka Team delivered an outstanding performance at the All India Inter-University Gatka Championship 2026, held in Kota, Rajasthan from 24th to 27th April 2026. Competing against 16 universities from across the country, the team proudly secured the 1st Runner-Up Trophy, marking a significant achievement for the university.
The team showcased exceptional skill and determination across multiple events, earning top honors in the competition. The medal winners are as follows:

Dr. Rakesh Malik, Director Sports, Panjab University, Chandigarh, congratulated the players and coaching staff for their remarkable achievement. He praised their dedication and assured continued support for the promotion and development of Gatka at the university level. To honor their success, he also presented gifts to the entire team along with the coaches.
The team was guided by Coach kulwinder Singh, whose leadership played a vital role in the team’s success.
Simranjit Singh, Secretary of Chandigarh Gatka Association, was also present on the occasion and extended his heartfelt congratulations to the players and coaching staff for bringing laurels to the institution.
