National winner of Zee TV’s “Sa Re Ga Ma” Rinku Kalia, folk legend Sukhi Brar, Sarangi maestro Vinod Pawar and Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, are among 11 awardees of the first “Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi Kala Pratibha Puraskar-2024” Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria will confer the awards on 10 individuals and one institution at a glittering ceremony to be held here on February 24, according information.
The function will feature a special performance by internatiionally-renowned Sufi singer Hans Raj Hans. While Rinku Kalia will be awarded in light music category, Sukhi Brar will get the award in folk music and Vinod Pawar in the classical music.
Suchita Mitra will be awarded in classical dance category, Swarn Singh Channi in the folk dance and Tarsem Chand Kalheri in the choreography field. Veteran theatre director Umesh Kant will be honoured for direction, Abhishek Sharma for acting and Subhasis Neogi for allied activities.
Chandigarh-based Pracheen Kala Kendra will be honoured with the “CSNA Kala Parkhi Puruskar” for its commendable contributions to the promotion of art and culture.SD Sharma will get the “Kala Vibhuti Puruskar”(Lifetime Achievement Award).
Saying that CSNA is committed to promote the local talent, Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi Chairperson Sukhminder Kaur Brar said an elaborate plan of action would soon to be formulated to provide a platform to the local artistes at the national and international level. Besides, internationally-acclaimed artistes will also be invited to Chandigarh to spice up city’s art and cultural scene, she added.
