Punjab’s Leader of Opposition (LoP) and senior Congress leader, Partap Singh Bajwa, will now join the police investigation on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, concerning his controversial remarks about “50 grenades” entering Punjab. The Punjab Police have registered an FIR against Bajwa for allegedly spreading misinformation that could jeopardize national security and unity.

The FIR, filed at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Mohali, stems from Bajwa’s claims, aired on a private news channel, that 50 grenades had infiltrated Punjab, with 18 already used in blasts and 32 remaining at large.

In contrast, Congress MLAs and MPs, led by PPCC Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, have rallied behind Bajwa, warning the state government against any action against him.
