The Nagar Kirtan being taken out by the Punjab Government to mark the 350th Martyrdom Day of Hind Di Chadar Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was warmly welcomed at village Golewala in Ferozepur by MLA Ferozepur Rural Mr. Rajneesh Kumar Dahiya along with administrative officials.
Thereafter, MLA Ferozepur Urban S. Ranbir Singh Bhullar, at 7 Number Chungi Chowk and Gurdwara Saragarhi Sahib, along with Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Deepshikha Sharma and SSP Bhupinder Singh, honored the Panj Pyare by presenting them with robes of honour.
When the divine Nagar Kirtan arrived at Gurdwara Saragarhi Sahib, Punjab Police personnel offered a respectful salute to Guru Sahib Ji with band tunes. Children of Government Primary School Ferozeshah and Guru Ramdas Public School, Armanpura, also saluted the Nagar Kirtan with their school bands.
After this, the Nagar Kirtan proceeded from Gurdwara Saragarhi Sahib through Shaheed Udham Singh Chowk and Malwal Road, heading towards Gurdwara Sri Jamni Sahib, Bazidpur.
During the event, MLA Ferozepur Rural Mr. Rajneesh Kumar Dahiya, who attended the Nagar Kirtan at Golewala within Ferozepur limits, said that this is a very commendable initiative by the Punjab Government to take out such a grand Nagar Kirtan dedicated to the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
He informed that among the four grand Nagar Kirtans, this one started this morning from the meditation site of Baba Farid Ji at the royal Qila Mubarak, Faridkot, and will pass through Ferozepur, Moga, Jagraon, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Chamkaur Sahib before reaching Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22.
MLA Ferozepur Urban S. Ranbir Singh, who joined the Nagar Kirtan respectfully at 7 Number Chungi in Ferozepur Cantonment, said that these sacred ceremonies commemorating the martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji will inspire future generations with Guru Ji’s eternal message of peace, compassion, and religious freedom.
He also mentioned that the Punjab Government will organize large-scale religious events at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25.
On this occasion, IAS (Under Training) Lindiya, Deputy Commissioner Vikas Nidhi Kumd Bambah, SDM Ferozepur Gurdev Singh Dhamm, Assistant Commissioner Simranjeet, as well as other civil and police administration officers/employees and a large number of devotees were present.
