The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has strongly condemned the attack on the party’s national convener, Arvind Kejriwal, in Greater Kailash, Delhi.
The party claimed that the BJP, fearing defeat in Delhi, has resorted to such desperate tactics. They alleged that Kejriwal was deliberately targeted because he consistently questioned the law and order situation in Delhi.
The party stated that Delhi’s law and order has completely collapsed, and an atmosphere of anarchy prevails. The attack on Arvind Kejriwal has exposed the failure of Home Minister Amit Shah.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed concern over the incident. He called the attack on Arvind Kejriwal utterly shameful. Mann said, “Since Kejriwal began questioning the BJP about law and order and public safety in Delhi, they have become frustrated.
This attack is a direct result of that frustration. It is disgraceful that this is the third attack on Arvind Kejriwal in just 35 days. Whenever BJP fails to fulfill its responsibilities, it resorts to violence and conflict.”
AAP Punjab President Aman Arora condemned the attack in strong terms. He warned the BJP that such an attack on their party supremo would not be tolerated.
He said, “The people of the country are watching everything, and the people of Delhi will respond to this heinous act of the BJP.
They cannot intimidate AAP leaders in this manner. This incident highlights the failure of the BJP-led central government to maintain law and order. If the BJP cannot provide security to a former Chief Minister, how can they ensure the safety of ordinary citizens?”
Arora added, “This cowardly attack on Arvind Kejriwal is yet another attempt by BJP to silence his voice, which always rises for the people. It is highly condemnable. The BJP must understand that these dirty tactics will only strengthen the resolve of Delhi’s people to re-elect an AAP government.”
Senior AAP leader and Finance Minister Harpal Cheema stated, “The attack on Arvind Kejriwal exposes BJP’s fear and the complete breakdown of law and order in Delhi. Instead of trying to hide his failures, the Union Home Minister should take responsibility. This is utterly shameful!”
Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sondh said, “I strongly condemn this incident. Arvind Kejriwal is one of the most educated individuals in Indian politics. A person who provides free education to thousands of children, free healthcare to thousands of people, and jobs to thousands of youth should not be subjected to such treatment.
This is neither forgivable nor tolerable. BJP destabilizes the law and order of states where it does not hold power. But I would like to ask, what is the Delhi Police doing? The BJP must answer this, as Delhi Police is under the control of the BJP-led central government. If a former Chief Minister cannot be safe in his own state, what about the common citizens?”
AAP MP Malvinder Singh Kang said that BJP has failed to maintain law and order in Delhi.
He added, “Recently, Arvind Kejriwal raised this issue in the Assembly, highlighting that Delhi has been grappling with a wave of crime and extortion for months, and the Home Ministry has been utterly ineffective in controlling it. Out of fear, the BJP orchestrated this attack on Kejriwal. This is cowardice on the BJP’s part. In reality, they are scared of Arvind Kejriwal.”
