SAS Nagar, Dec 4, 2013 (YP Bureau)
Kuljinder Singh Sidhu, the hero and producer of much acclaimed Punjabi movie ‘Sadda Haq’ Wednesday lent support to Bhai Gurbaksh Singh, a Sikh from Haryana, who is on a hunger strike at SAS Nagar to seek the release of Sikh prisoners who are being kept behind the bars ‘illegally’ even after completion of their jail terms.
Sidhu said, it was unfortunate that the government was not releasing Sikh prisoners who have completed their jail terms.
Lauding Bhai Gurbaksh Singh for his effort to bring the issues in limelight Sidhu said every right thinking human being should support Bhai Gurbaksh Singh’s cause.
He said, Gurmeet Singh, Shamsher Singh, Lakhwinder Singh (all lodged in Burail Jail) and Gurdeep Singh, Lal Singh, Sarwan Singh (lodged in different jails of India) were not being released even after completion of their jail term which was against the law and democratic norms. “There is no logic keeping them in jail now”, he said.
“We all should support Bhai Gurbaksh Singh for his noble cause”, he said.
Meanwhile, Bhai Gurbaksh Singh has announced a five member committee to talk to the government and plan future strategy with regards to his demand. The committee includes Bhai Gurbaksh Singh himself, Dal Khalsa leader Satnam Singh Paunta Sahib, Panch Pardhani leader Harpal Singh Cheema, Bibi Kashmir Kaur and Kuljinder Sidhu.
