PTC Motion Pictures Presentation Disco Singh broke all the records grossing Rs 2.10 cr on the first day itself.

The maiden venture of PTC Motion Pictures, Disco Singh opened in 203 theatres in India with over 840 shows making a record and an achievement in itself.

Producers Rajiee M Shinde and Rabindra Narayan said that the response from Disco Singh fans has been phenomenal as the movie has broken the previously held records of collections by any Punjabi movie so far.

“We stand committed to bring the best of Punjabi films to audiences worldwide. We will raise the bar of quality entertainment with every release under the banner of PTC motion pictures,” said Shinde.

Taking the Punjabi film industry by storm, Disco Singh starring Diljit and Surveen Chawla collected over Rs 2.10 cr on its first day of release on April 11 and Rs 2.25 cr on second day of its release registering best ever opening collection by any Punjabi film.

Overseas collections also indicate Disco Singh as the best movie that has come out of Punjabi film industry. Markets like Canada, USA, UK, Australia, NZ, Germany, Austria, Italy have reported people loving Disco Singh.

Narayan added that Disco Singh has created new benchmarks in Punjabi film industry cementing the Punjabi film industry in the mind of viewers like never before.

Story of Disco Singh revolves around Diljit who plays role of effervescent owner of music band that falls in love with beautiful Surveen. Though “hired” just to pose as Surveen’s boyfriend, he ends up stealing her heart. Shot extensively in New Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida and Hyderabad the movie has best flavor of the season.

It is first Punjabi film to be shot in Delhi around the Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb and other locations. The movie has strong star cast including Diljit Dosanjh, Surveen Chawla, Manoj Pahwa, Upasna Singh, Apoorva Arora, B N Sharma, Karamjit Anmol and Chandan Prabhakar.
