As the entire world gears up for practicing yoga on the International Yoga Day (June 21), this ancient way of exercise was also the mantra of healthy and fit life for senior civil and Police officers including Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Gurpeet Singh Bhullar, who along with her wife Benu Bhullar practices yoga daily.
They both have been practicing Yoga since long as a part of their daily routine despite of a hectic schedule. They practice Yoga under an expert trainer, who ensures that they do it in a proper manner to ensure its health benefits. Mr. Bhullar said that Yoga was probably the best way of life to remain healthy, active and fit and celebration of International Yoga day was an effort to give this ancient lifestyle a global recognition.
The CP said that Yoga gives multiple health benefits that includes improving flexibility, builds muscle strength, improves bone health, protects spine, increases blood flow, boosts immunity, improves heart rate, drops blood pressure, improves balance, boosts immune system and many others.
Meanwhile, Benu Bhullar said that the regular practice of yoga helps a lot in ensuring that body remains fit and stress free. She said that yoga was very essential for a fit body and sound mind adding that she feels that every person should practice yoga, especially women to remain active and healthy in these trying times. She said that Yoga was not only necessary for good health and hygiene but was also important for maintaining mental and physical equilibrium.
Mr. Maninder Singh who imparts yoga training to the CP said that the trend of Yoga was getting huge popularity amongst all sections of people. He said that people have been realizing well that in order to ensure a healthy lifestyle Yoga could play a major role.
