Chandigarh, October 7, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)

Punjab’s Minister for Investment Promotion, Industry, and Commerce, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, has reiterated Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s commitment to ensuring that no industrialist faces any difficulties in the state.

He stated that the Chief Minister’s vision is to make Punjab the leading state in the industrial sector, contributing significantly to the nation’s robust economy. He emphasized that efforts are ongoing to make government schemes, policies, and programs more industry-friendly to achieve this goal.

The Industry Minister highlighted that, despite being landlocked state, Punjab is making a significant mark in the industrial sector. He mentioned that CM Bhagwant Singh Mann is holding meetings with renowned industrialist groups from both India and abroad to attract maximum investment to the state.

As a result, there will be a growing demand for skilled youth in the future. With increased job opportunities in Punjab, young people will refrain from going abroad, and Punjab will once again rewrite progress story.

At the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training and Tata Steel Foundation for electrical labs and soft skill training, Sond remarked that practical training helps young people secure employment. Tata Steel Foundation will provide training at ITI Samrala and ITI Gill Road, Ludhiana, to help young people secure better jobs in industries.

Sond added that ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes) are among the best sources of practical knowledge. After receiving training from Tata Steel, the youth will be eligible for jobs at Tata Steel’s plant, being established on 115 acres in Ludhiana. Approximately 700 youth will receive direct or indirect employment there.

He expressed hope that renowned companies like Tata will contribute to Punjab’s development and provide employment to more Punjabi youth, noting that “Tata” is already an integral part of Indians’ lives.

Present at the event were Vivek Pratap Singh, Principal Secretary of the Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President (Corporate Services) of Tata Steel, Saurav Roy, CEO of Tata Steel Foundation, Captain Amitabh, Head of Skill Development at Tata Steel Foundation, Vinamra Singh, Resident Executive of Tata Steel and other officials.
