Punjab Cabinet Minister and Aam Aadmi Party President, Mr. Aman Arora, has issued a stern warning to drug traffickers and their masterminds, stating that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in the drug trade, regardless of their social or political standing.
The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, has adopted a zero-tolerance policy to eradicate the drug trade. The ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign, launched on March 1, has gained significant momentum, with people actively sharing information about drugs with the police.
He stated that 1651 cases registered and 2575 drug traffickers arrested since March 1and 1322 kg of drugs seized including 64.26 lakh drug money recovered so far
He said that Palaces built by drug traffickers during previous governments to be demolished.
He said that Employment bureau providing training to rehabilitate drug addicts. Panchayats, social service organizations, and educational institutions to be involved in the anti-drug campaign
Cabinet Minister S. Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal emphasized the need to continuously check medical stores and RMPs, while Cabinet Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO stressed the importance of monitoring oat centers.
Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Sakshi Sawhney, Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, and DIG Mr. Satinder Singh also shared details about the progress of the campaign and the actions taken so far. MLA Inderjeet Singh Nijer, Dr jivanjot Kaur, Mr Jaswinder Singh Ramdas, Mr Jasbir Singh Sandhu, Mr Dalbir Singh Tong, Mayor Mr Jitendra Singh and many party official also present in meeting.
