Ontario (Canada), March 4, 2026

45-year-old Punjabi-origin social media influencer and YouTuber, Nancy Grewal, was fatally stabbed in LaSalle, Ontario.

According to the LaSalle Police Service, officers and paramedics responded to a report of a stabbing shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the 2400 block of Todd Lane. When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found Grewal suffering from serious stab wounds.

She was immediately transported to hospital by Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services, but later succumbed to her injuries, police confirmed.

Authorities have classified the case as a homicide, although investigators have described the incident as isolated and not posing a broader threat to public safety.

Police Investigation Underway

Police launched a detailed investigation following the incident. Investigators cordoned off two homes on Todd Lane between Canada Street and Bishop Street, where multiple evidence markers were placed along a concrete walkway and near the front entrance of a house believed to be connected to the case.

wooded area about one kilometre away near the walking trails by Herb Gray Parkway was also sealed off as investigators searched for possible evidence.

Police have not yet confirmed whether any suspect has been arrested or disclosed the motive behind the attack.

Investigators have urged residents to provide surveillance footage, dashcam recordings, or doorbell camera video that might assist in solving the case. Anyone with relevant information has been asked to contact Detective Sergeant Jamie Nestor or Crime Stoppers.

The killing occurred roughly two weeks after the region recorded its first homicide of 2026, when a 44-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of Windsor Regional Hospital’s Metropolitan campus on February 18. Police later arrested a suspect linked to that case in LaSalle.

Who Was Nancy Grewal

Nancy Grewal, whose real name was Anita Agnihotri, was originally from Ludhiana in Punjab, India.

According to information shared in her earlier social media posts, she studied in Sirsa and later attended Satluj Public School before completing higher studies at what she described as a national college.

Before moving to the Windsor/LaSalle region of Ontario, she had been residing in Calgary, Alberta.

Grewal had developed an online presence as a Punjabi-origin YouTuber and social media commentator, though reports vary regarding the size of her audience and the nature of her content.

Social Media Presence and Controversial Commentary

Nancy Grewal was widely known for her outspoken views on political and religious issues linked to Punjab as well as developments affecting the India–Canada relationship.

She had publicly criticised jailed MP Amritpal SinghAkali leader Bikram Singh Majithia, and Dera Beas chief Gurinder Singh Dhillon.

Grewal was also vocal during the India–Canada diplomatic tensions, strongly condemning Khalistani supporters and commenting on figures such as Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, particularly regarding Canada’s response to separatist-related matters.

In June 2025, she had also expressed concern after the death of social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, also known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, in Bathinda.

Investigation Continues

Police have confirmed Grewal’s identity and stated that the investigation remains active. Officials have not yet disclosed further details about the motive or possible suspects.

Authorities continue to appeal to the public for any information that may assist in solving the homicide.
