Violation of COVID-19 protocol would invite FIRs: Deepti Uppal

To ensure the implementation of revised guidlines under unlock 2 by the Punjab Government, Deputy commissioner Kapurthala Deepti Uppal has made it clear that the violation of these guidelines would invite strict action which mainly includes compulsory registration of FIRs.

Terming the fight againt Covid 19 a life time challenge, she said that as per the guidlines the district administration has decided to restrict social gatherings by imposing 144 in the whole district. She also said that in marriage cases , the gathering would be limited only to 30 person against the earlier 50.

Deputy commissioner said that joint teams of police and civil administration shall strictly enforce the restrictions on social gatherings (restricted to 5 under section 144 as well as weddings and social functions. The management of Marriage Palaces/ Hotels shall be held responsible and shall face suspension of licence in case of violation of norms.

She also said that the as per the new guidelines wearing of masks has been made compulsory in work places/offices/ closed places, as per the new guidelines, with also directs strict enforcement of the Health Department advisory on Air Conditioning and ventilation/air circulation.

There shall be no physical presentation of demand charters by Associations etc, serving of tea, etc. has to be avoided, as are physical meetings of more than 5 persons, at the workplace in the kapurthala district, she added.

She also said that by keeping in view the coming monsoon to aware the people against the water borne diseases, a special sanitation drive would be launched in coming days by the local bodies , MCs and Panchayat department. She urged the people to assist the civil and police administration in fight against corona for welfare of mankind.
