In the wake of Typhoon Kalmaegi (Tino), UNITED SIKHS has launched a sustained humanitarian response to support families across Cebu, prioritizing the hardest-hit communities in Talisay City. The international aid organization has established a 24/7 Relief Hub at Cebu City, distributing food, clean water, hygiene kits, and essential medicines.
“Cebu is hurting. The suffering is real. The need is immediate,” said Gurpreet R. Sethi, UNITED SIKHS Relief Operations Team Lead for the Philippines Super Typhoon Kalmaegi response. “Your donation fuels survival. Your presence on the ground turns urgency into impact.”
Barangay (administrative area) Captain Hon. Jose Edwin R. Etcabanez of Barangay Lawa-an II expressed heartfelt gratitude:
“UNITED SIKHS’ kindness and compassion have left a lasting impact on our barangay. The relief goods you provided ensured our affected households had access to essential needs, allowing them to rebuild their daily lives with dignity and hope. Your gesture will always be remembered with deep appreciation.”
UNITED SIKHS leadership has also formally reached out to Hon. Gerald Anthony V. Gullas Jr., Mayor of Talisay City, to extend support and coordination for ongoing and future humanitarian projects.
In letters dated April 2015 and later in November 2025, the organization highlighted its previous work during Typhoon Haiyan, including the construction of homes and distribution of relief to over 6,000 families in Roxas City and Tacloban. The organization now seeks to replicate and expand these efforts in Talisay City.
