Sufi Festival is proving to be a platform for new and hidden artists

A four-day Sufi festival is being organized at the local government college as part of an effort by the Punjab government to revive Sufi music in the state. During this festival, where big artists like Sultana Nooran, Kanwar Grewal, Kamal Khan, Sardar Ali, and Master Salim have been valued for people to hear and see, more than a dozen hidden, new and local artists have also got a big stage.

Giving information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Pallavi said that under the initiative of the Punjab government, the district administration has tried to bring a maximum number of children and hidden artists to the fore during this festival.

He said that the district administration has been very successful in this effort. So far 5 students and 9 other hidden artists have showcased their art in this festival. On the last day, many more new artists will demonstrate their skills.

It is to be mentioned that Kajal, Kiranpal Kaur, Razzak Mohammad, Hanspal Singh, Sehbaz, and many other students participated in this event. Apart from this, Abid Ali, Parvez Jhinjar, Arham Iqbal, and Mohammad Anees have also realized their artistry. The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration will try to provide good opportunities to them in the future as well.
