Six youths from Patiala felicitated for commendable work during pandemic

An online felicitation function held on the first anniversary of the partnership between the Punjab Government and Youth-UNICEF, Pride of Punjab and Six Youth from Patiala district who have done commendable work in the first and second wave of Covid-19 pandemic were given certificates. In addition to doing so, they have made significant contributions in social service and environmental protection.

Mr Kumar Amit, Deputy Commissioner, Patiala said that the online falicitation was performed under the Chairpersonship of Chief Secretary Mrs Vinni Mahajan. It is worthwhile to mention that Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had launched the rural Mission Fateh and Covid Mukt Pind campaign with the active participation of youth. It was a unique initiative.

Among these youth, Husandeep Kaur, a B.Com student from Ramgarh village, who has allayed the suspicions of the people in her village about vaccination, students Amandeep Kaur and Gurdeep Kaur from Lubana Teku, who in collaboration with Trident and Pride of Punjab, made aware the villagers besides disbursing them Masks and Ration, B Sc Medical Student Neha Kaur from Mandaur for cleanliness drive, Covid awareness and planting saplings, Sandeep Singh from Patiala for distributing masks with Pride of Punjab, Rebenefit and Team Fateh and another young social activist Gurdeep Singh, a12th class student of Khera Jattan were awarded.

Deputy Commissioner Mr Kumar Amit while applauding these felicitated youths, said that they alongwith district administration and in collaboration with Pride of Punjab have organized awareness campaigns to save residents from Corona, distributed masks and ration to the needy during lockdown, helped in Covid vaccination and planting saplings. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kumar Amit, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mrs Pooja Sayal Grewal, Assistant Commissioner (G) Ms Jasleen Kaur Bhullar presented certificates to the youth for their remarkable contribution. On this occasion Assistant Director Youth Services Dr. Malkiat Singh Mann, social activists Paramjit Singh Badshahpur and Gurjant Singh were also present.
