Sirsa demands arrest of DIG accused of molesting and stalking minor Sikh girl in Maharashtra

New Delhi, December 24, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa has demanded immediate dismissal of Maharashtra DIG Nishikant More and his arrest in molestation and stalking case of a minor girl from minority community.

In a letter written to Maharashtra Chief Minister, Mr. Sirsa said that minority Sikhs in Maharashtra are facing atrocities. He said that a case has been making national headlines in which Deputy Inspector General (Motor Transport, Pune) Nishikant More, has been accused of molesting a minor girl on her birthday party on June 5 this year but surprisingly no action has been taken against DIG More in last 6 months.

He said that the family has been once again harassed as Mr More is stalking the girl and causing problems for the whole family. He said that on December 21, 2019, the girl accompanied by her mother had gone out for shopping near her tuition class near Shilp Chowk in Kharghar. Here she spotted DIG More stalking her. He said that the girl had to hid in a public washroom out of fear and called Police Number 100 for help.

Mr. Sirsa said that this kind of fear for a teenager from a minority community speaks of the emotional trauma caused by the unethical conduct of an official. He said that her father has also submitted a complaint at Kharghar police station in Navi Mumbai.

He said that when whole India stands united to protect its daughters from rape or molestation, it is highly disgusting to see police officials themselves involved in the act. He said that this incident, if not acted upon, would destroy the savior image of police.

He demanded that the state government must take concrete action against the erring police official to reflect their commitment towards minority’s safety and respect and immediately dismiss DIG More and order his arrest to set an example of Maharashtra Government prioritizing respect for girls and women above any official or bureaucracy.
