The Shiromani Akali Dal Punarsurjit has announced the first list of 14 district presidents for its Scheduled Caste (SC) Wing.
SC Wing president Harwail Singh Madhopur said the appointments were made under the directions of party president Giani Harpreet Singh. He said the appointments are aimed at strengthening the SC Wing at the district level and expanding the party’s outreach among the general public and marginalised sections.
The newly appointed district presidents are:
- Amritsar Rural – Sukhchain Singh Neshta
- Amritsar Urban – Surinder Kumar Bhatti
- Fatehgarh Sahib – Ajmer Singh Badla
- Mohali – Bhagat Singh, Kharar
- Bathinda – Babu Singh Romana
- Hoshiarpur – Sukhwinder Singh Moonak
- Malerkotla – Jagjit Singh Hathan
- Barnala – Gurjit Singh Khudi
- Gurdaspur Rural – Jaspal Singh
- Gurdaspur Urban – Karnail Singh Dodia
- Pathankot Rural – Maklal Das
- Pathankot Urban – Onkar Singh
- Fazilka – Gurmel Singh Mahuana
- Ludhiana Rural – Harjinder Singh Mohi
Madhopur said the appointments would help strengthen the party’s organisational structure across districts and enable the SC Wing to establish greater contact with people, particularly those from disadvantaged sections.
He added that appointments to the remaining districts would be announced soon.
Congratulating the newly appointed district presidents, Madhopur expressed hope that they would work with greater dedication, honesty and enthusiasm for the party.
