SGPC making efforts for welfare of Siligar Sikhs; Ration for 1830 Rajasthan families dispatched: Jagir Kaur

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today dispatched a large quantity of ration to support 1,830 needy Sikligar Sikh families living in Rajasthan.

The ration and other essentials sent from Sri Guru Ramdas Ji Langar of Sri Darbar Sahib, Sri Amritsar was dispatched in five trucks carrying 457 quintals of wheat, 183 quintals of rice, and 91 quintals of pulses, and 2,000 blankets in the presence of SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur and other prominent personalities.

While sending essential items to Rajasthan, SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the SGPC is constantly making efforts for the welfare of the Sikligar Sikh families who are an important part of the Sikh community and work is being done for their welfare regularly.

“In order to make the Sikhligar Sikh children self-reliant in various states, the SGPC is providing their school fees and now, the ration has been dispatched to the needy families as per the demand from Rajasthan. The ration would be distributed among the Sikligar Sikh families living in Hanumangarh, Tehalwada, Alwar, Khairthal, Sri Ganganagar, Musani, Kishangarh, Bharatpur, Jaipur and other places in Rajasthan”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.

SGPC President said that the SGPC is already assisting the children of Sikligar Sikhs in their education under which school fees were being provided to them in the states including Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, and other places.

She said that Rajasthan is also home to a large number of Sikligar Sikh families and the All India Rajasthan Sikligar Sikh Sabha, Alwar had raised a demand for ration for the needy families. She said that the SGPC has always been supportive of the Sikligar Sikhs and is committed to them in the future as well.

On this occasion, SGPC senior vice-president S. Surjit Singh Bhitewad, general secretary Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, assistant secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib S. Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, OSDs to SGPC President Dr Amrik Singh Latifpur and Dr Sukhbir Singh, Manager Satnam Singh Mangasarai and others were present.
