Amritsar, December 28, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President S. Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly condemned the incident of beadbi by a youth who tried to run away with Sri Guru Granth Sahib from a gurdwara at Ennakhera village in Malout sub-division of Sri Muktsar Sahib district.

S. Harjinder Singh said that such incidents happening with Guru Granth Sahib are highly reprehensible. He questioned the Punjab government that the incidents of sacrilege taking place in the state were not stopping and the government is sitting silent.

SGPC President also appealed to the management committees of the Gurdwaras to be vigilant and the attendance of the sewadar (employee) inside the Gurdwaras at all time during the day should be mandatory. He said the Sangat should also cooperate in guarding the Gurdwaras.

SGPC President said that strict punishment should be given to the culprits who commit sacrilege, so that no mischievous elements could repeat the crime.
