The Punjab Congress general secretary Pawan Dewan today demanded removal of Harish Chaudhary as the secretary in-charge of the party for the state saying he was responsible for the party’s humiliating defeat.
In a statement issued here, Dewan said that Harish Chaudhary is responsible for sinking the ship of Punjab Congress. He said that as the state in-charge, it was his biggest responsibility to give tickets to the right people, to coordinate the party and to reach the people, but he neither could allot the tickets properly, due to which the frustration of the already angry workers increased due to lack of attention from the government. With the result, the right message did not reach the people and the result is in front of everyone, he said.
“When those guilty decide to be the judges, then who will do justice?”, he remarked in an obvious reference to Chaudhary saying he was responsible for defeat and he was now presiding over the review and introspection meetings.
He said, nothing was going to come out of the so called brainstorming, till the Congress High Command does not go for the overall overhauling of the party in Punjab as otherwise the plight of Congress will be the same, as it remained at the Centre.
