The School of Agriculture Sciences and Engineering (SASE), in collaboration with the Institute Innovation Council (IIC), MRSPTU, Bathinda, organized an inspiring expert lecture on “Agriculture and Inspiration for Entrepreneurship” for students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.Voc. Agriculture, and B.Tech. Agricultural Engineering.
Renowned horticulture entrepreneur S. Sukhpal Singh Bhullar—recipient of the National Award, State Award, and Chief Minister’s Award in Horticulture—delivered the session. He motivated students to explore opportunities in agri-entrepreneurship, emphasizing innovation-driven farming, adoption of modern technologies, and sustainable agricultural practices.
Sharing his exceptional journey from financial struggle to becoming a highly successful agripreneur earning lakhs and crores through diversified ventures, Mr. Bhullar presented real-life examples of how determination, scientific approaches, and innovation can transform agricultural livelihoods.
He elaborated on advanced practices in orange and grape cultivation and highlighted the immense commercial prospects of pearl farming and saffron cultivation for aspiring young entrepreneurs.
An engaging interactive session followed, leaving students deeply inspired and confident about venturing into the expanding agri-business sector.
Prof. Jasvir Singh Tiwana, Head of Department, extended heartfelt thanks to the speaker. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Convenor IIC; Dr. Wineet Chawla; Dr. Kanwaljit Singh; and Er. Rajinder Singh Smagh.
