Sarna brothers, G.K., Sirsa & Kalka summoned in court in GHPS matters: Inder Mohan Singh

Delhi High Court summoned the present and former Presidents & General Secretaries of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) in matters relating to Guru Harkrishan Public Schools (GHPS).

While giving details in this regard, Mr Inder Mohan Singh, former DSGMC member & Expert in Delhi Gurdwara Affairs said that consequent upon defying the November 16, 2021 Orders of Delhi High Court with regard to payment of arrears of 6th & 7th CPC as well retirement benefits to retiree staff, 43 Contempt petitions were filed and during joint hearing of these matters on June 2, 2022, Inder Mohan SinghDSGMC filed affidavit stating therein that during the tenure of its President Paramjit Singh Sarna & Harvinder Singh Sarna from 2006 to 2012, there was a liability of about 83 crores towards payment of arrears of 6th CPC to GHPS staff, but not even a single penny was paid to staff by these Sarna brothers despite collecting enhanced fee of Rs. 32 crores from students as per the 6th CPC. It also says that the arrears are being paid in instalments from 2013 till now.

While taking strict cognizance of the information provided by the DSGMC, Justice Subramonium Parsad of the Hon’ble Delhi High Court directed all the Presidents and General Secretaries from the year 2005 onwards till now, viz. present President Harmeet Singh Kalka & General Secretary Jagdip Singh Kahlon, former Presidents Paramjit Singh Sarna, Harvinder Singh Sarna, Manjit Singh G.K., Manjinder Singh Sirsa and former General Secretaries Rajinder Singh Techno, Balbir Singh Vivek Vihar & Gurmeet Singh Shunty, to personally appear in the Court on next date of hearing fixed for July 25, 2022 at 3.30 p.m.

Mr Inder Mohan Singh said that the Hon’ble Court specifically mentioned that the management is obliged to extend the same benefit to all similarly placed persons as the petitioners herein without forcing them to come to Court to get the same benefit.

While giving more information, Mr Inder Mohan Singh said that the DB of Delhi High Court gave little relief to the management in its Order dated May 30, 2022 by slightly giving extension of time upto July 10, 2022 to clear all arrears of 6th CPC and retirement benefits but in case of failure, the management should personally present themselves in Court on July 12, 2022.
