SAD condemns broad day light murder of Vicky Middukhera, Majithia demands independent probe

Chandigarh, August 7, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today condemned the broad day light murder of former Student Organization of India (SOI) President Vicky Middukhera and said it was the direct result of the free rein given to gangsters by the Congress government. It demanded an independent probe into the assassination of the youth leader to unmask the entire conspiracy behind the killing.

In a statement former Minister Bikram Singh Majithia said the shoot-out at Mohali, in close proximity to the State capital, proved that no one was safe in Punjab. “The law and situation has deteriorated to such an extent that kidnappings, extortions and shoot-outs have become an everyday event. The government has become powerless to act against the gangsters who are operating at will as was witnessed in Mohali today”.

Mr Bikram Majithia said the SAD had earlier raised the issue of patronage extended to gangsters in jail and even quoted police studies of how Punjab jails were being used as dens to run extortions as well as target killings.

“We exposed how gangsters were treated as VVIPs in jail and highlighted the close proximity of gangsters like Jaggu Bhagwanpuria with Jails Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa. The manner in which Uttar Pradesh don Mukhtiar Ansari was provided shelter in jails in Punjab is known to everyone”.

The SAD leader also demanded that an internal inquiry should be held to ascertain the laxity in administering law and order in Mohali which led to the tragic incident. He also expressed his deep condolences with the bereaved family and assured it that the SAD was with it in its moment of grief and would do its utmost to ensure Vicky’s killers were brought to justice.

Meanwhile Youth Akali Dal (YAD) President Parambans Singh Romana also condoled the demise of the youth leader. He said Vicky was a popular student leader during his time in the Panjab University and had played a pivotal role in strengthening the SOI who he served as its President and also the YAD.

Mr Romana said Vicky was known as a hard worker who had risen from the ranks through sheer merit. “Vicky continued to indulge in public service after passing out from the Panjab University and had recently even contested the municipal corporation elections from Mohali which he lost by a very narrow margin”. He said Vicky’s work for the youth and society at large would be always remembered.
