Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) working president S Balwinder Singh Bhunder today urged Istri Akali Dal(IAD) president Bibi Hargobind Kaur to end her fast unto death, which she has been observing since November 12 outside the deputy commissioner’s office in Sri Muktsar Sahib.
The IAD president has initiated a fast unto death to protest against the distribution of substandard ration to children in Anganwari Kendras across the State besides victimization done to her by terminating her services after she exposed the Anganwadi scam.
Expressing complete solidarity with Bibi Hargobind Kaur, the SAD Acting president stated that the party would stand with her and take the fight to its logical conclusion. “We will be taking recourse to legal action in this case also”, he asserted.
Lambasting the Aam Aadmi Party led state government for being totally inhuman and engaging in political vendetta, Mr Bhunder said Bibi Hargobind Kaur’s health was deteriorating but no one in the administration had tried to address the issues she had flagged even though they were directly related with pregnant mothers and lactating children.
He also highlighted how the AAP government had engaged in corruption and snatched ration distribution from government agencies and handed them over to private firms in lieu of kickbacks. EOM
