Aryna Sabalenka extended her impressive winning streak to 15 matches, securing a spot in the China Open quarter-finals with a dominant straight-set victory over Madison Keys. The world number two, aged 26, took just 65 minutes to win the match 6-4, 6-3.
As the top seed, Sabalenka will now face Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic in the last eight, after Muchova cruised past Spain’s Cristina Bucsa with a 6-2, 6-0 win.
Sabalenka’s last defeat came in the quarter-finals of the Canadian Open on August 10, but she has been unstoppable since, winning 46 of her 57 singles matches in 2024. Her current unbeaten streak includes titles at both the Cincinnati Open and the US Open.
With world number one Iga Swiatek skipping the China Open due to personal reasons, Sabalenka has the opportunity to close the gap in the rankings if she continues her winning run in Beijing.
