Register criminal cases against Haryana police for firing at farmers: Mahila Kisan Union

Jalandhar, Feb 14 2024 (Yes Punjab News)

The Mahila Kisan Union, a member of the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), has urged Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to register criminal cases against the Haryana police for firing shots at farmers proceeding peacefully towards Delhi within the borders of Punjab.

President of the Mahila Kisan Union, Biba Rajwinder Kaur Raju, alleged in a statement that the Haryana government, under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is perpetrating brutal atrocities against farmers who were exercising their democratic rights for implementation of MSP laws.

Condemning the anti-farmer attitude of Manohar Lal Khattar government she called upon the voters to defeat the saffron party during the upcoming general elections.

Biba Raju accused the Haryana government of demonstrating sheer hostilities towards innocent farmers and labourers by obstructing all routes with concrete barricades and metal spikes and allowing their police to use tear gas shells, rubber bullets, water cannons, and even firearms against the “Anndatas.”

Condemning the cruel attacks on farmers within Punjab’s territory by the Haryana government, women kisan leader Biba Raju has urged the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government to register criminal cases against the Haryana police for their irresponsible and unlawful attacks on farmers.

She also demanded that the injured be provided with comprehensive medical treatment free of cost. Women leader appealed to the injured farmers and journalists to preserve all evidences and file FIRs at nearby police stations.

Expressing solidarity with “Kiasn Andolan 2.0” and the demands of farmers, the Mahila Kisan Union has called upon Prime Minister Modi to fulfill the promises made to the SKM during the repeal of the black agricultural laws two years ago.
