PYC chief Brinder Dhillon writes to Akal Takht on Anupam Kher’s tweet hurting Sikh sentiments

Chandigarh, 2 july 2020 (Yes Punjab News)
PYC President Brinder Singh Dhillon wrote to the Akal Takht jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh ji, taking strong objection to actor Anupam Kher’s tweet, where he has taken up Sikh Guru Guru Gobind Singh ji’s couplets and used them in his tweet.

Dhillon stated that using the much revered religious verses ‘Sawa Lakh Se ek Ladauu, Tabe Gobind Singh Naam Kahaun’ for a person who is known for igniting communalism & his many statements against the minorities, Anupam Kher has deeply insulted the faith of the Sikhs, who are known for their sense of brotherhood and empathy.

Guru Gobind Singh ji has stated the verses while creating the Khalsa in 1699, encouraging the Sikhs to fight against oppression, but by using this for petty political statement making, Kher has not only debased the verses by using it for a notorious leader, rather by changing the syntax he has disrespected Sikh belief system as well.

Calling upon the Sikh clergy to take notice of the disrespect, Dhillon appealed that action be taken against Kher for showing Sikh literature in a poor light.

It must be mentioned that Akali dal who have always claimed to be a ” champion of sikh causes” were conspicuous by there silence. It shows there double standards on these issues and there lust for power in selling the community for political gains.

Akali dal has lost moral credibility to speak on sikh issues as well as showing people there true colur and there double speak .
