“Punjab State welcomes disruption and revolutionary transformations in both its industry operations and governance structure,” said Shri Manpreet Singh Badal, Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Planning & Programme Implementation, Government of Punjab while addressing the Inaugural Session of Symposium on Business & Manufacturing Innovation organised by Confederation of Indian Industry here today.
He further added that it is indeed a matter of pride that the state is also excelling in technology & innovation in addition to being a forerunner in agricultural practices.
Ms Vini Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary – Industries & Commerce, IT and Investment Promotion, Government of Punjab also graced the occasion and said “Our government assures an over-arching infrastructure and favorable regulatory ecosystem to enhance adoption of innovation and IT in all segments of industry and citizen services.”
She also informed the gathering about the various measures adopted by the state to lead the technology charts and provide support to both the bureaucracy and the citizenry in common affairs.
“A perfect amalgamation of innovation and ideation between the government, industry and the citizens can lead to massive opportunities for our country to connect and exchange knowledge with the world.” mentioned Mr Sunil Kant Munjal, Past President, CII & Chairman, Hero Enterprises Limited & Chairman, Lala Bahadur Chand Munjal Foundation during his address.
Mr Sachit Jain, Immediate Past Chairman, CII Northern Region also addressed the participants and opined that it is very heartening to see structured efforts from both the government as well as the industry to infuse technology and innovative practices in their operations.
Prof Julian Beer, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Birmingham City University expressed his views and said “We are delighted with this opportunity to hold positive discussions with the Indian Industry and explore possible areas of collaboration in order to enhance the exchange of innovative technologies.”
The Symposium saw knowledgeable technical sessions on creating culture of innovation and leading change in manufacturing industry from experts all the way from Birmingham City University, United Kingdom, Indian School of Business and IIT Ropar.
