State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a Sub Inspector (SI) and a private person red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000.
Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said SI Hargobind Singh posted at Police Post Bhucho Mandi in Bathinda district and a private person Ram Ji Lal of village Bhucho were nabbed red handed by Vigilance team for accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000 from complainant Jagjit Singh of village Tungwali in Bathinda district.
The complainant has approached the VB and said that the above said SI and his accomplish Ram ji Lal were demanding Rs. 15,000/- for releasing his motorcycle on Sapurdari and the deal was struck at Rs. 10,000.
After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused SI and a private person were arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000/- from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses
He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the accused at VB police station Bathinda and further investigation was under progress.
