DSP Inquiry Leads to Suspension of Four Punjab Police Personnel

In a significant move, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Ferozepur, Punjab, has suspended four police personnel, including a Station House Officer (SHO), following an investigation that revealed their involvement in the illegal detention and torture of an individual.

The suspended officers include Jagdeep Singh, SHO of Guru Harsahai Police Station, along with an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and two other constables. The suspension orders were issued by SSP Bhupinder Singh based on the findings of an inquiry conducted by Guru Harsahai DSP Satnam Singh.

The DSP’s investigation confirmed allegations that the officers had unlawfully detained a man and subjected him to torture during his time in custody. The swift action by the SSP underscores the Punjab Police’s commitment to upholding law and order and ensuring accountability within its ranks.
