Punjab Police SHO Arshpreet Kaur Grewal booked in Rs.5-lakh Bribe Case

A corruption case has been registered against Punjab Police SHO Arshpreet Kaur Grewal for accepting a bribe of 5 lakh rupees. Along with him, a case has also been registered against 2 Munshis and 2 other private persons.

Arshpreet Kaur Grewal is a police officer of Punjab, who came into limelight due to her good deeds during the Covid crisis and the then Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh praised her by making a video call.

Inspector Arshpreet Kaur, posted as SHO at Police Station Kot Ise Khan and two others have been booked under relevant sections.

The two Munshis involved in the case include Gurpreet Singh and Rajpal Singh. Apart from this a father-son duo have also been booked. The duo, caught with 3kg of opium, were released after accepting bribe allegedly by Arshpreet Kaur and two other cops.

According to information, on October 1, the police arrested Amarjit Singh, a resident of Datewal Road, Kot Ise Khan, with 2 kg of opium and registered a case against him. However Amarjit Singh’s brother Manpreet Singh and his son Gurpreet Singh, who were nabbed with 3kg opium where let off after striking a deal with the culprits. The father-son allegedly paid Rs.5-lakh to Arshpreet and his accomplices and managed to save the situation.

According to the FIR a sum of Rs.8 lakh rupees were demanded through two persons and Rs.5 lakh rupees were taken in cash. No case was registered in the matter and the father-son duo were let off.
