The Punjab Government has transferred IPS officer Varun Sharma from Patiala and posted him as Senior Superintendent of Police, SAS Nagar.
Sharma, a 2014-batch direct-recruit IPS officer, was presently serving as SSP Patiala.
He will replace Harmandeep Singh Hans as SSP SAS Nagar. Hans has simultaneously been transferred to Patiala and will take over the post being vacated by Sharma.
The move effectively results in an exchange of district assignments between the two IPS officers.
The postings are part of the latest Punjab Police reshuffle involving eight IPS officers.
Sharma has been directed to take charge of his new assignment immediately.
