Ropar, July 1, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

In a major crackdown on organized gang culture in Punjab, the Ropar Police has arrested a 22-year-old sharpshooter, associated with Maharashtra’s notorious gangster Rinda.

Yadvinder Singh @ Yaddi is an expert marksman, with several cases of murder, extortion and attempt to murder registered against him, said SSP Swapan Sharma, disclosing that communication between various Rinda gang members were reportedly being coordinated from Dubai. It was evident that the gang had sympathisers in foreign lands, he added.

Police have recovered three pistol of 315 bore, 12 bore and 32 bore from the possession of Yaddi, reportedly affiliated with Rinda (Category A gangster) from Nanded. Initial investigations have revealed that Lucky and Sukhpreet Buddha of Moga helped Yadvinder arrange these weapons from Uttar Pradesh. Police are in touch with their counterpart in Meerut (U.P.) to ascertain the weapon source.

Yadvinder and his associates have been actively involved in running an extortion racket in the industrial area of Baddi and Nalagarh (H.P.). Their targets have been wine contractors, toll plazas and metal kabadias. On several occasions, Yadvinder has also acted as a courier to carry drugs and contrabands from Amritsar to Ambala on the Rinda’s directions.

This is one of the last remaining major gangs left in Punjab. They have hideouts in Pinjore, Mohali and Ambala.
