Punjab Police conducted 613 raids across the state on Thursday as the ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign entered its 206th day, arresting 368 people and taking the total number of arrests under the drive to 60,722.
The police teams carried out the raids at identified and mapped locations linked to associates of gangsters. The operations were conducted by district police teams in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab.
The ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign, aimed at making Punjab a gangster-free state, was launched by Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav on January 20, 2026.
During Thursday’s operation, four weapons were also recovered. Police teams additionally initiated preventive action against 285 individuals and arrested six proclaimed offenders.
The Punjab Police urged citizens to share information about wanted criminals, gangsters, crime and other criminal activities through the Anti-Gangster Helpline at 93946-93946. Information can be provided anonymously.
Meanwhile, the police continued its anti-drug campaign, ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, which entered its 531st day. Seventy-two drug smugglers were arrested during the day, with the police recovering 4.9 kg of heroin, 241 intoxicant pills and ₹2,300 in drug money from their possession.
With these arrests, the total number of drug smugglers arrested during the 531-day campaign has reached 75,824.
As part of its de-addiction efforts, Punjab Police also persuaded 12 individuals to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment on Thursday.
