Punjab Police conducted 603 raids at identified locations linked to gangster associates across the state on the 235th day of its ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign, resulting in the arrest of 325 individuals and the seizure of two weapons.
The campaign, aimed at making Punjab a gangster-free state, was launched by DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav on January 20, 2026. Police teams from all districts have been carrying out coordinated operations in collaboration with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab.
With the latest arrests, the total number of persons arrested under the campaign has reached 70,028. Police also initiated preventive action against 207 individuals and arrested 10 Proclaimed Offenders during the day’s operations.
Punjab Police said citizens can anonymously share information about wanted criminals, gangsters and other criminal activities through the Anti-Gangster Helpline at 93946-93946.
Meanwhile, the police continued their anti-drug campaign, ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, on its 560th day. As many as 177 drug smugglers were arrested during the day, while police recovered 7.4 kg of heroin, 101 kg of poppy husk, 1,192 intoxicant pills and ₹5,550 in drug money.
The cumulative number of drug smugglers arrested during the 560-day campaign has now reached 77,836.
As part of its de-addiction efforts, Punjab Police also persuaded 19 individuals to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment during the day.
