Punjab pensioners’ delegation meets Sukhbir Badal, assures support to SAD in LS polls

Chandigarh, May 06, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

A delegation of Punjab pensioners outfit today met Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president S. Sukhbir Singh Badal and assured its full support to the SAD in the forthcoming Parliamentary elections. It also apprised the SAD chief about their pending demands, urging him to force the state government to fulfill them by voicing their concerns at appropriate fronts.

A delegation of Punjab Government Pensioners Association under the leadership of its president Dev Raj Narula and general secretary Ajit Singh Sodhi met the SAD president and apprised him about the congress government’s callous approach towards their genuine demands.

It said that the Congress government was not releasing their three Dearness Allowance (DA) installments, adding that the state government has been giving fake assurances on the genuine demands of 3.5 Lakh pensioners of the state. They said that the pensioners would give a befitting reply to the Congress party in Lok sabha polls.

Informing the SAD chief about pensioners’ resolve to extend full support to the SAD in LS polls, the delegation said that all pensioners have completely been fed up with anti-employee attitude of this captain government. The state government did not even fulfill their single demand despite giving assurances repeatedly for the same.

They maintained that apart from releasing DA installments, other unfulfilled demands include asking Sixth Pay commission to give its report immediately, giving permission for reimbursement of medical tests for chronic diseases, providing regular medical allowance of Rs.2000 per month, releasing of reimbursement for chronic diseases treatment within a month and giving authority to district civil surgeon led committee to issue certificates for the chronic diseases.

Urging the SAD chief to put pressure on the state government to force it to fulfill their pending demands, the delegation said that after seeing it ignoring every section of the society including farmers, youth, Dalits and others, we have a zero expectation from this government that it would show any seriousness towards the demands of its senior citizens. It requested the SAD president to voice their demands on all appropriate fronts so it could force this deaf and dumb government to respond positively.
