Punjab Governor Opens the ’39th National Learn to Live Together Camp’ at Mohali

The 39th National Learn to Live Together Camp was inaugurated by the Governor of Punjab, Banwari Lal Purohit at Shiwalik Public School, Phase-6, Mohali. The CWC has been hosting the camp for the first time in the state.

The Governor of Punjab who is also President of the Child Welfare Council (CWC), Punjab, while addressing the children across the 16 states present here, said that the theme of the Camp is very relevant to today’s scenario.

He emphasized that children should follow the principles of simple living and high thinking. Further, he added that the culture of India has been following the practice of living together helping each other and contributing towards the welfare of society.

Children of each state should represent their language and culture and they should carry with them the good practices of other cultures.

While relating the theme by narrating three motivational stories related to Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shashtri and Ishwar Chander Vidyasagar, he said that hard work always comes back and we should respect the spirit of ‘Unity in Integrity’ by making good friends barring any religion, language and caste and avoid bad companies.

He congratulated the organisers for choosing the theme of cam as Learn to Live Together. He said that the Diverse and Vibrant Culture being presented by these children would be memorable for all of us and good and long lasting relations would develop among the children representing different states.

Among the other dignitaries present on the occasion included Nilkanth Avhad IAS, Principal Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation, Punjab, Viraj Shyamkaran Tidke, ADC (G), Mohali, Depankar Garg SDM Mohlai, Smt. Anupkiran, Principal, Shivalik Public School, Mohali and Smt. Prajakta Avhad, Chairperson of the Council were present along with her team.

More than 150 children and their escorts from 16 States of India were present. Smt. Prajakta Avhad welcomed the Governor, Punjab, other dignitaries and the children and escorts of the 16 States.

She said that the duration of this camp is 6 days i.e. up to 29-06-2024. Each day different indoor activities will be organised.

Dr Pritam Sandhu gave a brief description of the activities of the Child Welfare Council, Punjab and said that the schedule of activities of the camp has been prepared keeping in view the age group children of 10 to 14 years.

To make the children understand the culture and heritage of Punjab special exhibition has been installed with the help of prominent artists of Punjab and these artists were felicitated by the Governor, of Punjab.
