Chandigarh, Feb 25, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
To protest against exorbitant hike in prices of kitchen gas, diesel and petrol, Punjab Congress Committee would gherao Punjab Raj Bhavan on March 1.

Disclosing this, the State Congress Chief Sunil Jakhar said that party would take the voice of people against this cruel rise in prices of essential commodities to centre. We will keep pressurising the central regime which has completely forsaken the interest of common man to force it to control spiralling prices, Jakhar added.

Castigating the centre for looting the public, senior Congress leader slammed the atrocious Rs 25 hike in LPG prices effected today while pointing out that hundred rupees have been added to the gas cylinder price already in the last one month by centre.

Condemning the similar upward trend in price of petrol and diesel, Jakhar underlined that this was happening when the prices of crude oil are at half than what it was during PM Manmohan Singh Ji’s tenure. Modi regime is looting people by burdening them with this extra prices, Jakhar further said adding centre was filling coffers of its favorite corporates at the cost of the public.

The present central regime is working at the behest of corporates while letting people of the country suffer, Jakhar said warning Modi government that no dispensation can exist by torturing the public. That’s why Congress has planned this protest to intimate the Governor about the condition of the public so he could forward his report to centre.

Responding to a media query, Jakhar said Akali Dal is acting as a shadow of BJP by trying to shield centre over grave issue of rising prices and draconian agricultural legislations.
