Jalandhar Warriors captain Prabhsimran Singh dedicated his team’s seven-run victory over Ludhiana Lions to teammate Anmol Malhotra and his family after the wicketkeeper-batter lost his mother three days ago.
Jalandhar Warriors defeated Ludhiana Lions in the Mankind Pharma Sher-E-Punjab T20 League Powered by Punjab Kings at the I.S. Bindra Stadium, producing a strong all-round performance to secure a closely fought win.
Ahead of the match, the Warriors visited Anmol’s residence and spent time with him and his family during the difficult period. Despite his personal loss, Anmol remained connected with the team.
Speaking after the match, Prabhsimran said the players wanted to stand by their teammate and dedicate the victory to him and his family.
“We had a meeting yesterday. We went to Anmol’s house and spent time with him. We are very thankful to Anmol for contributing to our team in such a tough time,” Prabhsimran said.
The Jalandhar captain acknowledged the emotional difficulty Anmol was going through and said the entire squad had assured him that he would not have to face the difficult period alone.
“We are with him in this tough time. Obviously, it’s sad. He is our family, and we are there for him whenever he needs us,” he added.
The Warriors were tested at various stages of the contest. Their batting unit struggled to build sustained momentum, but the bowling and fielding departments stepped up at crucial moments to secure the seven-run victory.
For Prabhsimran, however, the significance of the result went beyond the scoreline. The team’s visit to Anmol’s home and its efforts to keep him connected with the squad reflected the players’ solidarity with their teammate and his family.
The victory also served as a tribute to Anmol’s late mother, with the Warriors dedicating their hard-fought win to her memory and reaffirming their support for their teammate during a difficult time.
