President of Misl Satluj, Ajay Pal Singh Brar, in his addressed during a gathering to launch “Poora Punjab Lehar” campaign, said that the campaign will speak about Punjab’s Chardi Kala (spirit of ever-rising optimism and progress).
He adds that Punjab, which for a considerable time has been in decline and is no longer a leading state, must now there is push is to reclaim its upward trajectory. Referring to a salok of the Ninth Guru, he said that when the Guru’s blessings are upon a Sikh — and upon Punjab — there is no challenge in the world that cannot be surmounted.
He emphasized that “Poora Punjab Lehar” is not just a campaign, but a new direction towards Punjab’s self-respect and political autonomy.
He informed that under the “Pura Punjab Lehar,” a special two-week camp has been organized at Gurdwara Amb Sahib. Intellectuals, social activists, youth, and aware citizens from various fields will come together to deliberate seriously on Punjab’s current challenges and future pathways.
At the inaugural event, several speakers, including general Secretary of Misl Satluj Davinder Singh Sekhon, Harpreet Kaur Chadda of the Women’s Wing, Yadvinder Singh Yadu of youth wing, Hardeep Singh Dodd, Sukhwinder Singh Gagan Sidhu, Ranpinderjit Singh Goldy and Hardev Singh Ghaneewala shared their views. They stressed the need for a Punjab-centric political framework, stating that the time demands a visionary movement focused on Punjab’s core issues.
The key demands of the “Poora Punjab Lehar” include redefining Centre–Punjab relations in accordance with the federal structure of the Indian Constitution, securing Punjab’s rightful claims over its river waters, Chandigarh, and Punjabi-speaking areas.
Other demands include financial justice, debt relief, reopening cross-border trade, a prompt and fair resolution of pending religious issues concerning the Sikh community, effective measures to curb pollution, and concrete action toward establishing a drug-free Punjab.
Speakers appealed to the people of Punjab — intellectuals, farmers, workers, youth, and concerned citizens — to join the movement and contribute toward building a strong foundation for Punjab’s future.
They described the “Poora Punjab Lehar” as the beginning of a long struggle for the restoration of Punjab’s rights and dignity, expressing confidence that this movement would prove to be a firm and historic step toward Punjab’s spiritual, economic, and political rejuvenation.
According to Davinder Singh Sekhon, a signature campaign titled “Our Dream: Prosperous and Capable Punjab” has been launched under the Poora Punjab initiative to demand Punjab’s rights and a brighter future. He stated that by November 2026, one lakh signatures will be collected and sent to the Prime Minister of India. He also appealed to various political parties for their support.
Leaders of Lok Hit Mission, an organization active on social issues under BKU Punjab, including Gurmeet Singh Sattu, Ravinder Singh Wajidpur, and Mandeep Singh, announced their support for the success of the Misl Satluj led Pura Punjab Lehar.
