Former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) General Secretary and former Punjab Large Industrial Development Board Chairman Pawan Dewan and former Nawanshahr District Congress Committee president Satvir Singh Palijikki, currently visiting London, held discussions with members of the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) on issues concerning Punjab.
Dewan and Palijikki said the discussions focused on strengthening democratic values, addressing socio-economic challenges and promoting inclusive development in Punjab.
They emphasised the need for greater coordination between Punjab and its diaspora to amplify the state’s concerns on national and international platforms. They said the interaction reflected a shared commitment to dialogue, consensus-building and finding practical solutions to issues affecting Punjab.
Dewan and Palijikki were accorded a warm welcome in London by senior IOC UK leaders Gurminder Randhawa and Sandeep Soni.
Randhawa and Soni said they were pleased to meet Dewan, along with former MP Virendra Sharma, Palijikki, IOC UK General Secretary Vikram Duhan and other colleagues.
They said the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the current situation in Punjab, particularly recent political developments in the state.
Dewan and Palijikki thanked Sandeep Soni of IOC UK for organising a dinner and bringing the leaders and members of the organisation together.
Among those present were Raman Bhandal Kanech, Vikram Duhan and Rintu Warich.
