Mr Shah Mohammad Usman, a third-year PhD student in the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, has been honoured with the Best Poster Award at the 2nd National Genetics Congress 2024 held at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, from December 11 to 13, 2024.
Usman’s award-winning poster showcased cutting-edge research in plant genetics, earning accolades from peers and experts for its scientific depth, clarity, and potential impact. His work highlights the innovative strides in plant sciences and underscores PAU’s commitment to advancing agricultural research.
PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal congratulated the student and his advisor, Dr Johar Singh, Principal Wheat Breeder, for conducting impactful research that reflects his academic excellence and dedication to the field.
“This achievement not only brings pride to PAU but also reaffirms its position as a premier institution fostering outstanding talent in agricultural sciences”,” the Vice-Chancellor remarked. PAU officers, Deans, and Directors applauded the student for the remarkable achievement.
