Dr Manjeet Singh, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Punjab Agriculture University (PAU), visited South Korea to attend the International Symposium in Daegu, Republic of Korea from October 29-31. He was invited by the Korean Society for Agricultural Machinery as Keynote Speaker.
He delivered a lecture on “Current status and outlook of digital agriculture and field smart farm in India.” During his visit, he also attended a national level exhibition KIEMSTA-2024 at Exco Daego. All the latest agricultural machinery for crop production, protection and processing were displayed.
Tractor run on hydrogen gas, robotic arm for the picking of fruits in orchards, an autonomous sprayer, etc. were the major attraction at the exhibition. Dr Singh shared that Korean farmers were already having smart farm to produce high value crops including vegetables and fruits.
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, congratulated Dr Singh and motivated him to continue working with unwavering devotion for farmers’ welfare.
