Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) alumnus, Mr. Ravinder Singh, has received the prestigious “Outstanding Master Thesis Award-2024” for his groundbreaking research in pickle chilli breeding.
The award was presented during the 1st International Conference on “Innovations to Achieve Climate Resilient Smart Agriculture for Ensuring Global Food & Nutritional Security (IACRSAEGNS-2024)”, held at the Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on November 18-19, 2024.
Mr. Singh, who completed his M.Sc. Horticulture (Vegetable Science) under the guidance of Dr. S.K. Jindal, Principal Vegetable Breeder at PAU, conducted award-winning research on “Evaluation of Promising Lines for Yield and Quality Traits along with Leaf Curl Virus Disease Resistance in Pickled Chilli.” His work has provided valuable insights into improving yield, quality, and disease resistance in pickle chilli varieties.
PAU Vice-Chancellor, Dr. S.S. Gosal, along with Dr. A.S. Dhatt (Director of Research), Dr. M.I.S. Gill (Dean of Post-Graduate Studies), Dr. T.S. Riar (Additional Director of Communication), and Dr. T.S. Dhillon (Head of Vegetable Science), congratulated Mr. Singh and his advisor for this international recognition. They hailed this achievement as a testament to PAU’s dedication to advancing agricultural research and education globally.
