Member Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal assured the ex-servicemen of district to ensure justice in case of assault on Colonel of Indian Army and his son at Patiala a few days ago.
A delegation of ex-servicemen from the district today called on the Member Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal and handed over a memorandum of demands especially action against erring officials of Punjab police in Colonel assault case.
Describing that the entire nation salute our valiant forces and their indomitable spirit to the country from external as well as internal aggressions, the Member Parliament said Chief Ministef Bhagwant Singh Mann led Aam Aadmi Government had zero-tolerance on such issues. He expressed sympathy with the family over the unfortunate incident and assured that the requisite action had been initiated and a high level SIT was formed to take the enquiry to a logical conclusion.
Dr. Chabbewal also briefed that the high-level investigation team under an ADGP level officer would carry out investigation on day-to-day basis so that the next course of law could be taken place.
Chabbewal informed that all the 12 police officials involved in the incident had already been placed under suspension besides initiating departmental proceedings. All these officials are being transferred out from the district, said Dr Raj Kumar adding that justice would be ensured.
The members of delegation included Lt. Gen. (Retd) VSM J. S. Dhillon, President Capt. Jatinder Singh, Col. Malasu Singh, Col. D.J.S. Patial, Col. P.S.Manhas. Col. M.G. Ahluwalia, Col. Karan Singh, RPO Pardeep Kumar, Surinder Sharma and others were also present on the occasion.
