Jakhar Should Make the Deal with America Public Instead of Holding Daily Press Conferences: Baltej Pannu

AAP Leader Baltej Pannu 1

Chandigarh, 11 February, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab’s Media In-charge Baltej Pannu, directly challenging Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar, said that if the deal with America is truly in the interest of farmers, then instead of holding daily press conferences, why doesn’t he ask the BJP high command to make the full details and copies of that agreement public?

Pannu said that Mr. Jakhar has been holding press conferences almost every day, describing the deal with America as beneficial for India and especially for farmers, but so far no official copy or details of the agreement have been made public.

Pannu raised the question that if Jakhar has complete information and copies of this agreement, then why doesn’t he ask the BJP high command to make the agreement public? He also asked who signed this deal, whether it was signed by the Prime Minister, the Home Minister, or some other minister? The people have every right to know about this.

The AAP leader said that whatever information has come out so far about this agreement has only been through tweets by American President Donald Trump, and Trump’s tweets themselves state that agriculture is included in this agreement. In such a situation, when no official details have been made public by the Government of India, on what basis is Mr. Jakhar assuring farmers?

Referring to the three farm laws, Pannu reminded Jakhar that when the central government had introduced the three farm laws, the Badal family, who were allies of the BJP at that time, supported those farm laws. But when they had to face public opposition, they took a U-turn.

Taking a dig at Jakhar, the AAP leader said that now make sure you do not take a U-turn as well. If you have complete information about this deal, then make it public so that people can know the truth.

MP-Manish-Tewari

New Delhi/Chandigarh, February 11, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Chandigarh MP Manish Tewari has vociferously raised one of the most crucial and pressing concerns in the Lok Sabha – the re-development and strengthening of rail connectivity for Chandigarh, the City Beautiful.

Prior to the commencement of LS proceedings, Tewari had met Union Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav, urging him to examine the cost and time overruns in the re development of Chandigarh Railway Station and to enhance rail services by increasing train frequency, introducing additional stoppages and adding new trains from Chandigarh.

However, with no tangible outcome from his request, Tewari formally took up the matter in the Lok Sabha through Question No. 2021.

In his query, Tewari asked the Minister whether the Government is cognizant of the multiple representations he has submitted regarding improved train connectivity, including requests for superfast train stoppages at Chandigarh and Mohali on the Katra and Amritsar routes as well as enhanced connectivity to Rajasthan and if so, what the details are.

Tewari also sought details on whether any action has been initiated on these representations, including examining the feasibility of providing stoppages for Vande Bharat, Shatabdi, Sampark Kranti, Rajdhani and other superfast trains at Chandigarh and Mohali, emphasizing that a large number of students, professionals, lawyers and devotees rely on these routes.

Underscoring the need for direct connectivity to Khatushyam, Ajmer, Pushkar, Bikaner and other destinations, Tewari further asked what steps the Government has taken to provide direct connectivity to these stations.

Questioning whether the government proposes to address the public demand for the daily operation of Train No. 22451/22452 (Chandigarh–Bandra), Tewari said, “If anything concrete has been done in this regard, the Government should provide the necessary details and if nothing has been done, the Government must explain the reasons.”

Expressing deep dismay at the Government’s reply, Tewari said that although the Government, through its concerned minister, has provided a detailed reply but its disposition is not oriented towards the progress and re-development of Chandigarh.

“It is extremely unfortunate that genuine issues which matter greatly to Chandigarh are being overlooked by the Union Government,” rued Tewari, while urging both the Union Government and Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav to address all the representations and concerns he has raised for the welfare of the people without any further delay.

New Delhi, Feb 11, 2026
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued a compounding order of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) violations in the case of Deccan Digital Networks Pvt Ltd, according to a statement issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday.

The compounding order was passed by the Reserve Bank on January 14 under Section 15 of the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (FEMA), “in the case of Deccan Digital Networks Private Limited, which has resulted in termination of proceedings against the company for alleged contraventions of provisions of FEMA, 1999”, the ED statement said.

The agency statement further added that the said order has been passed by the RBI after issuance of ‘No Objection’ by the ED.

In this case, based on the credible information received, an investigation was taken up by the ED under the provisions of FEMA.

After completion of the investigation, ED filed a complaint under Section 16 of FEMA before the Adjudicating Authority on December 27, 2012, against Deccan Digital Networks, pointing out several contraventions under FEMA, 1999, for which compounding has been passed by the RBI.

These contraventions are late reporting of “foreign inward payments under Para 9(1) (A) of Schedule 1 to FEMA 20/2000-RB, covering Rs 11,82,84,399 and late filing of Form FCGPR after issuing shares under Para 9(1) (B) of the same Schedule 1 to FEMA 20/2000-RB, covering Rs 11,82,84,400”.

As per the provisions of FEMA, the adjudication proceedings were initiated by the Adjudicating Authority by issuance of a Show Cause Notice under Section 16 of FEMA to the company and its Directors/officers who were in charge and responsible for the conduct of the business of the company during the relevant period of contravention.

The ED statement said that the company, later on, filed an application before the RBI for compounding of the said contraventions under FEMA as per the provisions of Section 15 of the Act. On reference from the RBI, the ED issued no objection for such compounding in line with the true spirit of the Act.

Accordingly, the RBI, on the basis of no objection issued by ED, has compounded the said contraventions vide compounding order with a one-time payment of Rs 1,03,333.

“This has resulted in termination of adjudication proceedings under the provisions of FEMA, 1999, against the company for the said contraventions as well as further litigation,” said the ED statement.(Agency)
