Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has also come out in support of Arvind Kejriwal against the controversial ordinance of the Center on the rights of the Delhi government. After meeting AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal in Lucknow on Wednesday, Akhilesh Yadav announced to support the Aam Aadmi Party in Parliament against the Centre’s ordinance and said that the Samajwadi Party is completely against the bill. All our MPs will vote against this bill in the Parliament.
Akhilesh Yadav termed this bill as anti-democratic and said that the BJP is unable to digest the good works of the Kejriwal government in Delhi. That is why they are trying to take away the rights of the Delhi government in a dictatorial manner. He said that the BJP is fearing that if the Kejriwal government continues like this, then soon the Bharatiya Janata Party will become zero in Delhi.
On Wednesday, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and Delhi Education Minister Atishi reached Lucknow to meet SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.
Addressing the journalists in Lucknow on this occasion, Arvind Kejriwal thanked SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and said that our government was formed in Delhi in February 2015. Within just three months of forming the government, the Modi government issued a notification and took away the right of transfer-posting of Delhi government officers from us.
Then we along with the people of Delhi fought a long eight-year battle against this decision, after which the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the people of Delhi last month and clearly stated that the right of transfer posting of officers rests with the elected government of Delhi. Prime Minister Modi could not digest this defeat, so he again took away the rights of transfer-posting of officers from us by bringing an ordinance against the decision of the Supreme Court in a dictatorial manner.
Kejriwal appealed to all the opposition parties to vote against this ordinance and said that if all the opposition parties unite in Rajya Sabha then this bill will not be passed. If this bill is stalled in the Rajya Sabha, then a clear message will be delivered to the whole country that the BJP government will not repeat in 2024.
Addressing the media, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the Modi government at the Center has been continuously trying to harass non-BJP ruled states through governors for the past few years. He alleged that if the governor of a state does not disturb the state government for a week, he starts getting calls from Delhi.
He said that even in Punjab the Governor tries to harass us at every step. This time the governor refused to call the budget session of the Punjab government, then we had to go to the Supreme Court for this. Apart from this, the central government has blocked many of our funds to stop the work. The central government is not returning the GST money of Punjab and not giving us RDF money.
Chief Minister Mann said that in the states where the BJP loses elections, it wins through by-elections. After losing the elections, they form their governments by buying and selling a large number of MLAs.
Mann said that Delhi is the heart of the country. Therefore, attacking the rights of the Delhi government is like attacking the rights of 140 crore people from the country.
