Next SAD-BSP alliance Govt to have one Deputy CM from BSP: Sukhbir Badal

Jalandhar, December 11, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that a Deputy chief minister would be sworn in from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in the next SAD-BSP alliance government.

The SAD President was addressing massive gatherings in favour of party candidate Dr Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi at Banga and Bibi Jagir Kaur in Bholath. He said the post of Deputy CM would be a fit appointment for the decades of hard work put in by the BSP to build up its cadre despite all odds in the State. “The committed cadre of the BSP is its strength and the alliance will be honoured to offer the position of Deputy CM to the BSP”.

The SAD had earlier announced before its tie-up with the BSP that the party would offer the position of Deputy CM to a scheduled caste legislator. Now with this announcement, the SAD-BSP alliance will have two Deputy CMs once he comes to power in the State – one from the scheduled caste community and one from the Hindu community.

Mr Sukhbir Badal also announced that once the SAD-BSP alliance government was formed it would order an inquiry into the bribery charges made against home minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa by his cabinet colleague Rana Gurjit Singh.

“How can we expect this government to safeguard our State as well as the border when the home minister has started taking money openly for posting all field officers, be is SSPs, SPs or DSPs. We will not only conduct an inquiry into this bribery racket but will also order a probe into other corrupt deeds of the Congress government including the manner in which Congressmen plundered the resources of the State in league with the sand and liquor mafia”.

Mr Badal also condemned the brutality inflicted on unemployed teachers yesterday by a DSP in the CM’s security team at Mansa. He said the manner in which the unemployed teachers were persecuted proved that the chief minister did not want to address their concerns at all.

“He has been making announcements only and has not delivered on any of his announcements. Now when he has got exposed he is hitting out at the aggrieved persons in frustration. This is no manner to rule the State”, Mr Badal said while assuring all sections of employees that their grievances would be addressed once the SAD-BSP alliance government was formed in the State.

The SAD President also asked the chief minister why the sugarcane growers were being discriminated against despite assurances given by the latter. He said dues of sugarcane growers had not been cleared till now and they were unsure of getting the SAP announced by the State government.

Mr Badal also condemned Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal for not implementing any of the promises he was making in Punjab, in Delhi. He said in Delhi contractual employees had been agitating for ten years for regularization of their services but in vain.

The SAD president paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Nabh Kanwal Raja Sahib Ji in village Majra Nau Abad, Banga and later held a road show in Bholath constituency. He was accompanied by BSP leader Dr Nachhatar Pal, Jernail Singh Wahid, Yuvraj Singh and DPI leader Parshotam Chadha.
