National Scheduled Castes Alliance supports 10 Oct ‘Chakka Jam’ announced by Sant Samaj

Chandigarh, Oct 8, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)

Due to the ill attitude and mindful lethargic attentions of the state government under Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, future of lakhs of SC students had become dark and bleak following denial of admissions in the private run colleges and institutes in the state managements of whose are demanding heavy fee dues from them to get them admitted into the colleges to continue their further studies.

Mr. Paramjit Singh Kainth, President National Scheduled Castes Alliance in a Press club Chandigarh today said that all the efforts made to strive for the release of Post Matric Scholarship Scheme meant for the SC students to continue their higher studies have proved futile as none of the politician including the Punjab Chief minister had been taking the matter seriously. This is like that as like the fate of agitating farmers who are struggling for their survival over the last many decades.

The more astonishing fact is this that the chief minister had been deafening on the issue even as an IAS officer of the department owned by the minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot had openly accused the minister for his dubious role in the PMS scam.

Mr. Kainth said that, the alliance would make each and every sacrifice for the welfare of the SC students so that they become the beacons of the nation with all pride and honor. He also announced support to the Chakka jam agitation being launched being launched by the Sant Samaj Sanghrsh Committee on Oct 10, in protest against the alleged PMS scam which took place under the nose of Captain Amarinder Singh, and that too by his close cabinet colleague.

He said that the Sant Samaj Sangharsh Committee and several other SC organizations have out rightly rejected this clean chit to Dharamsot by the Chief Minister in the scam which needed to be probed by some of independent central agency.

Mr. Kainth lauded the efforts of Sant Satwinder Singh Heera, head of the Sant Samaj Sanghrsh Committee for leading the agitation of chakka jam for the cause and welfare of the upcoming youth fraternity of the under privileged class of the society.

He said that along with Sant Satwinder Singh Heera, he had drafted a plan to get nearly 3 lakhs students belonging to the SC community to get admission in the colleges for higher studies.

Mr. Kainth said that under this Post Matric Scholarship Scheme, students belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and Religious Minorities were provided a golden opportunity to pursue higher education. He further said that the Punjab government through the managing committee of colleges and universities had exposed the involvement of the governments in multi-crore scam by colluding in scholarships.

Captain Sarkar’s’ Third Party Audit’ and Comptroller of Auditors General (CAG) report September 2018 has revealed that the scam involved massive corruption by using the names of students in colleges and universities, but the Maharaja Sarkar has denied any bungling in the PMS funds and even the report of the Chief Secretary into the alleged scam did not figure any person including the minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, managements of the colleges and universities which furthered the dubious approach of the state government into the PMS scam darkening the future of over three lakh SC students in the state who are at the helm of dropping colleges and other institutions in the absent of necessary funds to get their studies continued.

This is cause behind the clear cut acquittal of the scam perpetrators responsible for the coming worst of the SC students depriving them of the right to education.

Expressing his anguish on the dilly-delaying tactics of the Maharaja government, Mr. Kainth said that Captain Amarinder Singh should immediate initiate corrective steps for the better cause of the SC students, the population of the community ,they belonged to is to all inclusive and a deciding factor for any political outfit to survive and rule the state.

Mr. Kainth also urged the chief minister to come out with a white paper on the issue to put forth the truth before the public to decide what was happened and that who was at the helm of affairs all along the scam had caught fire.
