The fourth and final National Lok Adalat of the year 2025 will be held on December 13, 2025, in all the courts of SAS Nagar District, informed District and Sessions Judge Sh. Atul Kasana here today.
Sharing the details, he said that a wide range of cases will be taken up for settlement during the Lok Adalat.
These include criminal compoundable offences, cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, bank recovery cases, MACT cases, matrimonial disputes, labour disputes, land acquisition cases, electricity and water bill cases (excluding non-compoundable theft cases), service matters relating to pay, allowances and retiral benefits, revenue cases, and other civil cases such as rent matters, easementary rights, injunction suits, and specific performance suits, among others.
The Sessions Judge further informed that he, along with Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, Ms. Surabhi Prashar, has held meetings with representatives of the Departments of Communications, Banks, Insurance Companies, Electricity Department, and Water Supply & Sanitation Department.
They have been urged to identify suitable cases for amicable settlement in the National Lok Adalat and to file pre-litigation cases for resolution at the pre-court stage.
He added that even pre-litigation matters can be taken up in the National Lok Adalat without filing a regular case and without affixing any court fee. Moreover, in pending cases where a settlement is reached through the Lok Adalat, the court fee will be refunded to the parties.
